About me...
Yes, I’m a fully trained therapist, registered with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) – although that doesn’t mean I’ve got everything sorted.

Just like you, I’m on my own journey. I’ve encountered loss and grief in many forms, and continue to face day-to-day challenges in my own life.
But in recent times I’ve found ways to lighten the burden of the human condition, ways to grow.

It’s my deep wish to help you move towards this too.
Together, we can help you find the courage to surmount whatever obstacle you’re facing in life.

I’m fuelled by a curiosity about you – to find out who you are, what’s holding you back, and how we can work together to deepen your inner world.
My Path
Loss
As we all must eventually, I’ve been hit by losses in my life. Relational break-down, financial struggles and parental bereavement have all come my way. These losses led to a further, even more profound loss – the loss of who I thought I was, a loss of hope even. But the darkness led to searching, and it’s the lessons I learn in this searching that I’m most grateful for. Through Buddhist practice, counselling and psychotherapy, I’ve found a truth that’s both precious and paradoxical – that there is always meaning to be found in loss.
Counselling & Psychotherapy
I didn’t know I wanted to be a therapist until I experienced counselling and psychotherapy myself. It’s a process that’s changed me profoundly. I’ve worked with several different therapists, all practicing different methodologies. They’ve all been immensely valuable, especially when working with them long-term. Fundamentally though, there’s no one approach that works best. But through each of them, I’ve learned the most important lesson of all – that only through deep internal exploration can we start to make real external changes.
Training
I’m trained in all the main methodologies of counselling and psychotherapy, and have been drawn in particular to the work of Carl Jung. These studies led to a fascination with the unconscious, and a belief that our dreams, creative endeavours and memories hold hidden meaning. Uncovering these meanings can reveal more about us than our purely conscious selves can ever know.
Experience and Qualifications
I’m a fully-trained integrative counsellor, with a FdA in Counselling at distinction level from Plymouth University. I’m registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and work within their ethical framework. I have intensive experience working with people facing acute trauma, addiction/dependency, bereavement and suicidality. I also work with adolescents post 16 and young adults in HE and FE settings.
